Greetings from Tropical Paradise!

Hello again!

Since my last post we have made our way down south to the tropical island of Ko Phangan. This island is hands down the most beautiful place I have ever been in my whole life. To get down here was a bit of a rough journey, but well worth the effort. We first left Ayutthaya and drove in a very small pickup truck down to Bangkok. Once there we had a couple hours to kill so we all got some food ( I grabed meat on a stick, my fav. meal) and we also did some small shoping. Then at around 11pm we boarded a huge double decker VIP bus that drove untill 1am to stop for some lunch and then continued to drive untill 5am when we arived in Chumpon. This is were things get really rough, we then had to wait 8 horrible hours just for the ferry to arrive, and then an other 3hrs once on the ferry. But needless to say it was all worth it. So far we have done some snokleing, (there is a small island right in front of our hut that has the best on the island) and have also been eating alot! One other big highlight is that we found a little bar on the end of the beach that only plays reggae music and serves some things you wouldnt find on a menu in canada.. So needless to say we enjoy that place very much and usually go down there once a night. Other than that it has rained the past few days so we have been hanging around alot, playing cards and such. We are thinking of staying for 2 more nights before we make our way to Khao Sok Rainforest and national park. I hope all is well with you at home and know that we are loving every bit of this 30+ weather.

Take care
D

  1. Sounds incredible D, I'm glad you're loving Koh Phangan, was it a gongshow getting off the ferry to decide on a place to stay? Enjoy Khao Sok and make sure you go see Gecko Man for your tours. He gave us awesome deals (with no other tourists) and has delicious curries. Tell him hi from us and that we listen to the "Job 2 Do" CD he made for us all the time. :)
Keep having fun, we're thinking of you lots!!! xox

  2. Hi Darrel! sounds like a hellish ride (again) but the extras (at the bar) & the snorkling must have been great - glad to her you are eating well, don't forget to keep well hydrated.

Looking forward to the next post (& maybe some more picture).

    Love ya,
    Mom & Dad.
